The fees are buried in contracts nobody reads, and the math is deliberately opaque. I spent years inside the industry — card networks, core banking, compliance systems — watching it happen from the inside.

Meanwhile, my wife and I were raising three kids and trying to manage allowances on a whiteboard. Simple problem. No good tool. So we started building. We're Phantastic 5. The ‘Phan’ is our family name. The ‘Five’ is us.

The founder spent years working inside the payment industry — that's why PayRecon exists. PocketPoints exists because we were managing three kids' allowances on a whiteboard and kept forgetting to update it.

Because small teams can't afford to be sloppy. We PCI DSS-reviewed PayRecon, OWASP-audited the security posture, and ran 170 end-to-end tests before anyone touched real data. Big company software has support tickets. We have our name on it.
